Infographic

In 2020, I wrote a story for the Niagara News about local period poverty. My previous experience in learning about this topic inspired the idea for creating an infographic to spread the word of menstruation and provide some basic information for people to understand. 

Menstruation is stigmatized across the world and I wanted to use this as an opportunity to encourage people to discuss menstruation as a normal topic. I chose this colour palette to create a soft feeling that embraces femininity and stands out to viewers. My illustration style represents how different women experience their cycle uniquely, which is why there are some women being active and one that is using a heating pack. Ideally, a reader would learn something new and realize there is nothing to hide when it comes to menstruation.
